How I Organize My Week While Working From Home

Writing things down has honestly been the biggest thing that helps me stay organized.

At the beginning of each month, I try to plan as much as possible ahead of time. Then every Sunday, I organize my week, and every morning, or even night before, I write my daily priorities on paper. It may sound repetitive, but physically writing everything down helps me stay focused and remember what actually needs to get done.

I Keep My Weekly Planning Simple

I do not use complicated systems. I usually separate my week into:

  • work tasks
  • family responsibilities
  • goals, personal & professional

Seeing everything in one place helps me avoid feeling mentally scattered throughout the day.

I Reset My Workspace Every Evening

At the end of the workday, I quickly organize my desk so the next morning feels less chaotic. Even a 5-minute reset helps me start the day feeling more productive.

I Leave Space for Real Life

One thing I learned while working from home is that not every day will go exactly as planned. Some days are productive, and some days are messy. Having a flexible routine instead of a perfect routine has helped me stay much more consistent long term.

Final Thoughts

Staying organized while working from home does not have to be complicated. For me, keeping things simple, writing everything down, and planning ahead has made the biggest difference in helping my weeks feel more manageable. It also helps me to cross out each task when it’s completed… Makes me feel like things are getting done!
